Very rare wall lamp by Kazuhide Takahama for Sirrah, model Kai.
Designed and manufactured in Italy, circa the 1970s. Mollusc shaped molded opaline glass shells make up the entire body of these contemporary sconces. You can mount these with a point up or point down approach. Takahama designed a series of lamps first in opaline glass, later models in metal or acrylic. These glass lamps Kai are not seen often.

About the designer
Kazuhide TAKAHAMA
Kazuhide Takahama was a Japanese designer who was born in Tokyo in 1930 and died in 2010. He studied architecture at Tokyo University before working for his father's design company, Takahama Industry Corporation. In 1955, he moved to Milan, where he began working for the Italian design firm Gavina.
