About this vintage design furniture
Kashkul Coco de Mer Islamic begging bowl Iran, 19th century. This begging bowl belonged to a Sufi, an Islamic mystic. The bowl is made from a Seychelles nut also called coco de mer. The begging bowl is decorated all around with 2 boteh next to each other in which a leaf and the edges are inlaid with turquoise beads. I believe it has the original chain attached to the cup with bronze brackets.
