Vintage barometer-thermometer in carved and gilded wood, France

Cicery, signed. Barometer-thermometer in carved and gilded wood with its lacquered background in green tones, the circular-shaped barometer in the central part, the rectangular-shaped thermometer in the upper part. In the upper part, waves, garlands of flowers, acanthus leaves and falling garlands of flowers adorn the thermometer, above which the words “Follower of M. de Réaumur” are written. In the central part, the barometer is decorated with acanthus leaves and a decoration of lattices. Around the decorative black metal star in the center, it is written: “By Cicery, barometer maker of the Royalle family. From a large street in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine à la tête Noire.” In the lower part, an acanthus leaf is framed by scrolls and a frieze decorated with lattices.
