About this vintage design furniture

Free standing rosewood desk designed by Jorge Zalszupin for his own company L’Atelier San Paolo in the 1960s, Brazil. This rare and exclusive desk is veneered in patchwork rosewood, a design choice ignited by the rationing of left over pieces of wood in a time when Brazilian rosewood became scarce. The top is finished with a thick rosewood band and the frame is made of solid rosewood. The drawers have chromed handles, and there is a chromed key entry on the inside of the drawer cabinet. We have no key unfortunately. The locking mechanism and key entry can be switched over to the outside of the drawer cabinet. The opening for this is closed with a solid rosewood plug. The desk is in very good condition, with small signs of use appropriate to age. Reference : 305442
