About this vintage design furniture
A ceramic soup tureen manufactured by S. C. Richard in Italy in the 1935, decor representing a sail boat has been designed by Gio Ponti. Soup tureen was part of a dinner service, it's marked on the bottom and in perfect conditions. Gio Ponti was an Italian architect and designer known for his contributions to the modernist movement, including Art Deco, this tureen is a splendid example of the art deco and creative hand of Gio Ponti

Gio PONTI
1891 - 1979Gio Ponti (1891-1979) was an Italian designer, architect, writer and teacher, considered one of the most influential designers of 20th-century Italy. Born in Milan, he studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic University and began working as an architect in 1921.
