Vintage palm tree console in brass and glass for Maison Jansen, 1970

These palm sculptures are probably the most emblematic pieces by Maison Jansen. They were produced in their workshops in the 1970s. This very rare example is composed of two large palm trees set on a black wood and mirror-polished brass base, and topped by a transparent glass with brass screws securing them together. The cutting, soldering and torch-finishing of the brass is superb, and makes the Maison Jansen palms truly unique. The patina on the brass of the leaves and trunk is superb. Each palm has two bulbs, and the console takes on an even greater dimension when lit. It has been fully cleaned and restored, and is in superb condition. Reference : 303994
