Vintage armchair with ottoman in Brazilian rosewood veneer and black leather by Eames for Fehlbaum, 1960

About this vintage design furniture

Very seldom seen original Eames lounge chair & ottoman produced in the late 60’s by Fehlbaum productions under licence from Herman Miller. Fehlbaum later went on to become Vitra who still manufacture this chair in Europe today. This chair has the classic combination of Brazilian rosewood veneers and black leather. The veneers are particularly beautiful on this chair with the leather showing a beautiful patina with a lovely soft sheen. This is what many would describe as a second generation chair with cushions filled with a down and latex mix. The Ottoman cushion has been reupholstered in the past however the leather has attained a lovely aged patina and matches the chair very well. This is a wonderful example offered in excellent condition. Fehlbaum label to the underside with further Herman Miller embossed markings to the shockmounts and other hardware. Reference : 295399
