Vintage Brillo floor lamp in white glass by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, Italy 1970

A modern Italian floor lamp, known as the Brillo lamp by Carlo Nason, designed for Mazzega in the '60s, is a true example of Italian space-age design. The lamp is made of hand-blown white Murano glass, but thanks to the innovative use of a red glass tube surrounding the bulb, which sinks into the white glass, the lower part appears orange when lit. The upper and lower parts of the lamp are connected by a steel ring, typical of Carlo Nason's design. The lamp is in very good original condition, having been cleaned and the metal parts polished. There is a repair on the lower part, which is not visible at all when the lamp is mounted. Someone has ensured the stability of the rim or repaired the glass chip using epoxy resin instead of glass. Technically, this repair is entirely justified, especially as the edge of the lamp covers it completely. This does not affect the functionality and appearance after the element has been applied with bulbs, but can be seen when the lamp is delivered in parts. The floor lamp requires two E27 bulbs.
