About this vintage design furniture

Pair of plates Atelier Cerenne, Ceramic Vallauris, 50's - France Pair of plates signed Atelier Cerenne, made around the second half of the 20th century in France. In each of them, with a naïve and Picassian tendency, the silhouettes of two fish are represented by simple, white, incised lines that stand out against the black background. This abstract, bold and evocative design is a powerful eye-catcher, thanks also to the hints of red, blue, yellow and green. Charles Rene Neveux founded Atelier Cerenne in 1945 and was active until 1958 when it was sold. The workshop was best known for small, high-end production runs. Vallauris was a pottery centre that experienced great growth in the mid-19th century thanks to the arrival of the railway. It finally established itself as a pottery centre with the arrival of post-impressionist and modern painters such as Chagall and Picasso, who looked to the oriental and the primitive for inspiration. It was at this time that the large factories appeared, and with them, a real industrial and commercial organisation in terms of ceramics production. Dimensions: 22 centimetres in diameter. Shipping costs include professional custom-made packaging and personalised shipping with tracking number and guarantee. Reference : 294230
