About this vintage design furniture

Postmodern Black Madagascar Marble Coffee Table by Carlo Scarpa, 1970s. Carlo Scarpa was a famous Italian furniture designer and architect, influenced by the materials, landscape and history of Venetian and Japanese culture. He designed this coffee table for Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan founders of the furniture company Cattelan Italia in Carre, Italy. They have crafted award-winning Italian furnishings with some of Italy's most famous designers including Gastone Rinaldi, Yoshino and Emilio Nanni. They have more statement pieces that include geometric glass-topped tables. This coffee table has two black marble pedestals made up of four stacked/stepped layers of marble with a U-shaped cutout creating a sculpted support for the bevelled glass top. Reference : 289493
