About this vintage design furniture

A large floor lamp in Space Age style made of mouth-blown white Murano glass. The lamp was designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega in the 1970s. This vintage lamp consists of two futuristic white glass elements held together by a central chrome-plated ring. The glass stands on a chromed base. The lamp is in excellent original vintage condition. Plug and switch are original and fully functional. Born in 1935 into a family of celebrated glassmakers from the Venetian island of Murano, Carlo Nason is without a doubt one of the most influential glass designers of the twentieth century. Best known for the flowing forms he creates from white opaline glass, most of his prolific output is represented by floor lamps. The current lamp is indeed a very rare and well-preserved floor lamp, designed in the 1970s for Mazzega. Realized in three superimposed elements in rounded white opaline glass, with finishing details in chromed metal, the lamp produces a beautiful diffused light and is an extremely refined sculptural object in itself.
