About this vintage design furniture
A rare, Mid-Century Modern, free-standing bookcase designed in the 60s by Adriaan Dekker for Tomado (the Netherlands). This bookcase is modular. And the black uprights are easy to fold into a small package. This Tomado bookcase has a teak veneer shelf and a white, a red, a black and a yellow metal shelf. Mid Century Modern Design or 60s Dutch Design.
Tomado is a Dutch housewares company known for its iconic modular shelving system. Founded in 1923, Tomado started out as a metal goods company. The Tomado shelving system (the metal bookcases and bookshelves), was designed in the 50s by the Dutch designer Adriaan Dekker. This modular system consists of metal shelves and bars that are easy to assemble and adapt to any space. It became a popular, modern and affordable storage solution for many Dutch households.
