Pair of vintage white ceramic table lamps by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, Italy 1960

This stylish mid-century table lamp was designed during the 1960s by Aldo Londi and manufactured in Italy by renowned company Bitossi. The hand-crafted lamp bases are of tall hollow cylindrical shape with a slightly recessed base and with typical Bitossi turquoise glazes applied to a band of repeat pattern of incised roundels applied around the lower body and set within a raised border. The body of the lamp base has a textured white glazed finish with the top with a narrow raised section and with a hole to accommodate a lamp fitting. A small cable hole is applied to the lower edge. The lamps are marked B4/35 and ITALY. The lamps have been rewired with european plugs and also have new shades. The lamp's bases measure 42 cm in height and 13 cm in diametre. Reference : 276718
