Vintage "Mr10" rattan armchairs by Mies van der Rohe, Germany 1980s

MR10 chairs designed in 1926 by renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Germany and produced by Tecta in the 1980s. With chrome-plated bent tubular steel frame and steel rack with wicker seat, these chairs demonstrate the enduring popularity of Mies van der Rohe's innovative and timeless designs. Also known as the Weißenhof chair, this model was exhibited at the Weißenhof exhibition in Stuttgart a year later, in 1927. The first sketches were influenced by architect Mart Stam's gas-tube chair without back legs. Sergius Ruegenberg recalled the origins of the Weißenhof chair in 1985: "Mies came back from Stuttgart in November 1926 and told us about Mart Stam and his chair concept. We had a drawing board hanging on the wall, on which Mies sketched the Stam chair; rectangular, starting from the top."
