About this vintage design furniture
Vintage Danish Curved Sofa by G. Thams for Vejen Polstermøbelfabrik 1960s.
Model 53 designed in the early 1960s by Danish architect Georg Thams. Mid-century modern banana shaped 3-seater sofa in light green wool upholstery. Seat has a fixed spring cushion, and the fabric has a thin white pinstripe. Wide flared armrests and long curved back. Five round tapered legs in solid teak. Very suitable as a freestanding sofa. Stunning and comfortable.
Excellent condition. Recently reupholstered by a professional with respect for the original design.

About the designer
Georg THAMS
Georg Thams was a German industrial designer born in 1935 in Flensburg and died in 2016 in Tønder, Denmark. He studied at the Flensburg School of Applied Arts and began his career working as a carpenter before turning to industrial design.
