This is a stunning antique buffet made from solid British Oak featuring hand-carved motifs on the doors, legs and supports. Inside the three cupboards this stunning sideboard features internal oak drawers with inlay brass handles in the center cupboard, on the left cupboard are shelves and finally on the right is a 9 bottle wine holder also made from solid oak and with an inlay brass handle. Along the top is a solid oak shelf and it is here that there is lots of beautiful hand carved motifs indicative of the pinnacle of design during the Arts and Crafts Period. The Arts and Crafts Movement originated in Britain during the late 19th century and was characterized by a style of decoration reminiscent of medieval times. The primary artist associated with the movement is William Morris, whose work was reinforced with writings from John Ruskin. Condition Report: Excellent condition, the is in immaculate condition having been looked after incredibly well. Every part of this piece looks as good as the day is was carved and inlayed from the handles, the top to the hand carved motifs. Reference : 270388
