About this vintage design furniture
Stoneware ceramic bowl by designer Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, Sweden. Handthrown in the 1950′s. Aubergine mixed with reddish brown and slight blue splash fur glaze. Hand signed “R”, three crowns of Rörstrand with initials of ceramist. Second line of production in very good condition with minor wear.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
