About this vintage design furniture
An eye-catching “Pirkka” stool designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara, manufactured by Laukaan Puu in FInland around 1950.
This lovely design is made of pine wood with black lacquered wooden legs. The tapered legs and curved seat give it a nice style, the finish makes it a highly recognizable piece! The seat is gently curved and is made of two parts, with a small opening in the center between them. An iconic piece of Scandinavian design that would make a great addition to the interior!
Marked underneath the seat, as shown in photos.
It remains in very good, original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
