About this vintage design furniture
Mid-century sommerso glass vase designed by Flavio Poli for Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano, Italy, 1960s). The vase is made of thick blue, orange and clear glass. It is extremely decorative. Beautifully colored faceted glass. Original label/sticker slightly worn but still intact (can be removed very easily if needed). Height 16 cm; width (largest point) 9 cm; depth (largest point) 9 cm. Excellent vintage condition.
"Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
