Belgian vintage coffee table in engraved brass by Christian Krekels, 1970

Very nice coffee table signed by the Belgian designer Christian Krekels made in the late 1970s. The top is very decorative, forming irregular scales, entirely in engraved brass, and resting on a wooden base covered with polished brass. The rectangular tray with finely engraved lines seems to float above the base. The technique used, typical of the work of the Belgian decorators of the 70's and 80's, is acid etching, creating a unique pattern. It has been fully restored and repolished, and is in superb condition. A rare piece, and very decorative. Reference : 240013
