Vintage chest of drawers by Marc Held for Prisunic, 1970s

Vintage high chest of drawers, circa 1970s. Piece was designed by Marc Held, the only French designer published by Knoll (Culbuto Chair.) This piece has a classic design and is made of PVC (thermoformable plastic.) The piece has a clean design with fantastic ergonomic handles typical of the time (see pictures.) The cabinet structure has a white color finish, with 3 orange and 2 white drawers, each measuring at: H: 12.5 cm x W: 32 cm x D: 25 cm. At the bottom is a storage compartment with a door that opens and closes properly, measuring at: H: 44 cm x W: 37 cm x D: 25 cm. Inside, there is an adjustable clear plastic shelf in the middle (not original) and two additional brown side compartments inside the door, both original to the piece (see photos.) This particular configuration is somewhat atypical, as pieces like this were more commonly found with only 3 or 4 drawers. Technically, this piece of furniture is "modular", (meaning that individual pieces can be slid in or out), and anyone who bought it at the time, could have it custom made to suit their personal tastes or storage needs. It is sold only in this current configuration. It will not be disassembled or reconfigured. The piece is in good overall condition, original and vintage. There are some signs and marks of age and previous use commensurate with time, on the overall structure, top, drawer fronts and side panels (see photos), interior of the drawers (see photos), as well as patina of time faded areas of color on the hinges and inside the cubby (see photos), some areas with slight natural yellowing with age on the plastic, all normal for a piece of this age.
