About this vintage design furniture
A very nice pair of model 042 chairs designed by Geoffrey Harcourt in 1963 for Artifort.Harcourt's 042 chairs were used in Stanley Kubrik's film "2001: A Space Odyssey" and also for the new airport in Lima, Peru. These first editions have been fully restored with new fabric and foam. They have been reupholstered in a looped Italian wool fabric. The steel frames show signs of age, with marks and discoloration in places. Nevertheless, they are very clean. They can be placed together to form a two-seat sofa, or separated for a conversational look.
