About this vintage design furniture
Set of two chairs by Belgian designer Gustave Serrurier-Bovy Ca.1900. Made of solid oak wood and green velvet. Some small wear on the velvet on the seat. Serrurier-Bovy is one of the most important Belgian architects and furniture makers. Together with Victor Horta and Henry Van de Velde, he was one of the leading Art Nouveau architects. Several pieces of furniture by Serrurier-Bovy belong to the collection of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Other pieces are in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. In addition to furniture, he also designed jewellery, vases and lighting, typical of Art Nouveau designers. Seat height: 45 cm
