About this vintage design furniture
Thonet N 55 ¾ chair with the option of "foot holding hoops". The seat is original, revived with shellac with buffer. Ready for service. Seat height : 47 cm. Total height : 85 cm The model N 55- 3 4 has a rectangular seat (36X39), it is more remarkable than the 55 -12 which has only a round seat of 37 cm. (see page catalog 1928) We find the label Thonet Czech-Slovakia, probable dating 192225 It is Kohn with its N 55 of 1900 which is the precursor of this pretty chair derived from the accents of the famous Loos of the same manufacturer. It is to know that Thonet and Mundus "merged" with Kohn in 1922, the previous success of the chair JJK 55 thus obliges the new firm Thonet to preserve this model in its catalogs.
