About this vintage design furniture
Antique Italian school painting by Giuseppe Canella (1788-1847), is an oil on canvas and is signed in the lower left corner of the frame with Canella and presumably dated 18431847. It depicts the Mediterranean face of a house with mountains in the background and a view of a lake to the left. Framed in a giltwood frame with some damage all around.Estimated by Sotheby's to be between £5000 and £7000.The work has crazing all around and the canvas has been re-pasted once, but is in reasonable condition.
