About this vintage design furniture
Buffet with top cabinet and bar designed by A.A. Patijn for the Dutch furniture factory Zijlstra, 1950s. This buffet with round sides is part of the Poly-Z series. The round shapes are very characteristic of A.A. Patijn's designs. This sideboard has a bar, four dust-free drawers (with round sides, like Cees Braakman) for easy cleaning, a bookcase and two storage cabinets on the bottom right. The condition is still very good and original with slight traces of age and use. Material : Wood, veneer, walnut, glass and brass. Dimensions : h x w x d 130 x 204 x 44 cm. Height of the sideboard (without upper cabinet) 74 cm. Source: monthly Ons Huis 1958, page 862 to 866 and Taschen, 1950s, decorative art, page 228 and page 250. Good to know: A.A. Patijn, also designed the KLM De wide view restaurant at Schiphol in 1953 and the KLM Biak hotel in New Guinea ((design and furnishings) in 1955.

About the designer
Abraham A. PATIJN
Abraham A. Patijn is a contemporary Dutch designer, born on November 4, 1979 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After studying industrial design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, he founded his own design studio in Rotterdam in 2006, where he works mainly on furniture and lighting projects.
