About this vintage design furniture
Hugely impressive diagonal executive desk by the design of giovanni offredi for saporiti italy. Offredi drew a wide array of designs for saporiti but the diagonal is likely to be the most impressive work of his. Just like the onda series by offredi, the base consists out of wood that is layed with birds veneer and varnished on top. The affect is a high gloss look, typical italian. The desk consists out of 6 pieces that are built up in this manner. 2 large feet, the under part of the top with its distinguishing design that tilts 45 degrees below at the outer end, and a large top, all formed in a diagonal pattern. The desk is very well made and built solid. It’s sheer size of nearly 3 meters makes it a central piece for any living room or office space. The desk is extremely rare and was only built in limited numbers during the 80s. The desk can be traced back on the saporiti website; http: www.saporiti.comfurniture-collectiondiagonal-desk and bares an original saporiti italia sticker too. The desk is in solid condition and has some overal traces of use in the varnish layer. The feet have been repainted in order to regain the original damage free finish.
