About this vintage design furniture
Small white Oyster easy chair model 156 designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort in 1957-1958. Artifort started making this design classic in 1959. This chair has a great seating comfort and was made in the 1960s. The Artifort Oyster is available in two sizes. The large version model 157 (men’s easy chair) and the small version model 156 (ladies chair). This 156 version has been in production for a shorter period, has never been re-released and is therefore rarer. The condition is still very good; it has been reupholstered with new foam and fabric from De Ploeg. The frame is still very nice, no breaks andor repairs, normal wear and patina. Material: a metal (nickel) base with a shape-bent pressed wooden seat with foam and upholstery. Dimensions: h x w x d 78 x 84 x 70 cm and the seat height is 36 cm.
