About this vintage design furniture
George Nakashima Influenced this sideboard has been made in Japan in the 1960s. Robsjohn Gibbings worked for the same company as Nakashima called Widdicomb. This particular piece is more high-end than the Widdicomb furniture pieces so it was probably a bespoke piece, also suggested by its unusually large size. The elegant saber legs reference the typical Japanese shrine. Also, be aware that oak was a very precious and prestigious wood in Japan. The elegant white tabletop really brightens everything up.
