The One Of A Kind World War One ‘Blimp’ Airframe Leather Sling Chair, Made From An Original 1917 Airship Frame With Incredible Provenance Such an incredible and interesting piece of historical aviation history in the form of an original super light alloy frame from the infamous ‘Blimp’ or better known as the ‘Zeppelin’ airship that were used to defend the South Coast of England during World War 1 piloted by The Royal Navy Air Service these airships that were based in East Sussex patrolled the U- Boat infested English Channel. Known as the S.S.Z. 6,7,8,9,10 and 19 these airships are all but lost apart from scarce remnants of which we have managed to find small sections of the airframe to create this truly one-off and unique piece of historical aviation interest, Covered in a padded chequered stitched tan hide leather sling seat, leather laced at the back with vintage brass eyelets, Comes complete with a file of provenance together with photographs etc. Truly amazing piece of furniture that would be the centre conversation piece to any home or office.
