About this vintage design furniture
LAR armchair made of fiberglass designed by Charles & Ray Eames in the 1950’s and made at Herman Miller (Vitra) in the 1970’s. Vitra was licensed with Herman Miller in 1957 and then started producing the Charles & Ray Eames designs. LAR stands for Lounge Height Armchair Rod Base or LAR Low Armchair Rod Base. The frame is also called “cat’s cradle base”. The seat is made of fiberglass (colour: ochre light) and has a beautiful visible structure. The condition of this armchair is still good with normal signs of use and wear (see photos). Dimensions: h x w x d 65.5 x 65 x 63 cm, seat height 31 cm. Marked: The chair is marked with V (on the seat) from Vitra and M (on the rubber) Miller (see photos). Source: Classic Herman Miller book page 41.
