About this vintage design furniture
Sciolari chandelier with a gold plated gilt brass frame in the Neoclassical style,1960’s ca, Italian. This chandelier has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired & earthed with 2 metres of gold silk cable & 8 new E14 lamp holders. It is fully working, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. Eight new black silk gold lined lampshades & lightbulbs are included in this price. This chandelier can work with a dimmer. It is possible to use this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. This elegant vintage chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari is a reinterpretation of the traditional Neoclassical chandelier. In this case the traditional canopy shaped chandelier is given a Modern twist with the use of geometric forms. Key design features such as the swag & scroll form are kept simple for a Modern clean look. It has Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail, emphasized with the use of polished & satin gilt finishes. The metal frame is quality cast and has a good weight. From this centre piece spreads out 8 scrolling arms in polished finish. These rise slightly upwards, each holding a bobeche in a satin finish with a polished beaded trim. On the bobeche there is the lamp holder with a removable cover in a satin reeded finish and two horizontal bands. Under the bobeche there is a long decorative finial with a twisted rope design also in a satin finish. Between the arms runs two ’string of beads’. The contrast between the satin & polished finishes creates different reflections and depth. Each lamp holder carries 1 standard small screw light bulbs (E14) up to 40 Watts. At present fitted & photographed with Candle Clear shaped light bulbs of 28 Watts. These are included in the price. It is possible to use other E14 bulbs.
