About this vintage design furniture
Mid-century white Murano globe pendant lamp made in Italy in the 1970s. The glass shade is transparent with a fine "Pulegoso" processing, that add a precious texture and a milky white "Lattimo" band placed along its entire circumference. The lamp is hung from the ceiling with a steel cable. In particular, the "pulegoso" glass, as it is called in Murano glassworks, is characterized by countless tiny irregular air bubbles (in Venetian "pulighe") inside the glass mass, which deliberately limit its transparency. It is obtained with a technique that was used a lot in the 1920s, adding substances such as gasoline in order to produce in this way a boiling on the glass in fusion. The so-called "lattimo", is a special processing of glass and the term derives from the Italian word "latte", or "milk". Vintage Murano pendant lamp in excellent vintage condition. Total height with cable 100 cm. Requires E27 bulbs. Suitable for all electrical wiring of all countries.
