Vintage art deco wood and brass coffee table, "Acrilan" by William Watting for Fristho Franeker, 1950

Highly sought after coffee table by William Watting for Fristho, often attributed to Gio Ponti or Giordano Chiesa. A very special design thanks to the warm, organic walnut wood combined with clear glass, with elegant Art Deco elements such as the brass ornament in the center of the table and the curved shamrock pattern of the wooden frame. This table is documented in the book "Fristho 'Vooruitstrevende meubelen, 1921-1978'" by Bert Looper, page 129 (2014). The glass top has been replaced by a top that is a perfect replica of the old one with the same etched glass edge.
