About this vintage design furniture

Small reading desk in solid walnut composed of a top and a column adjustable in height and designed in 1940. The whole rests on a rectangular base with a second moulding. Note that the design of this base, with a large footprint, provides perfect stability to the whole. On this base is established a ribbed shaft, with a rectangular section, enclosing a central chromed and cylindrical tube, benefiting from a sliding axis allowing the height adjustment of this atypical piece of furniture. The reading support is supported by a metal frame and has the particularity of being adjustable in its degree of inclination thanks to a tightening handle located at its bottom. This four-sided platter is defined by a 4 cm thick strip surround and is embellished in its center with a panel made of a beautiful solid walnut wood, called "expanded". A fine brass rod is found on the front and back of this adjustable table, allowing a book or other manuscript to be held there. Unique and adaptable, this small lectern will be able to keep its original function as a writing desk, particularly useful if the book is bulky or precious and cannot be held in the hand. This tilting table can also be used as a decorative object bringing singularity and personality to your interior. Period: 1940. Excellent condition. Restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
