Coffee table in cherrywood designed by Gio Ponti with original glass top from the 1930s. Gio Ponti was assigned to design furniture for the Concept Store « La Rinascente »with a view to revive the Bourgeois company's image and decor in Italy. The idea was to 'provide tasteful furniture at a modest price and with simple lines. Good vintage condition

Gio PONTI
1891 - 1979Gio Ponti (1891-1979) was an Italian designer, architect, writer and teacher, considered one of the most influential designers of 20th-century Italy. Born in Milan, he studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic University and began working as an architect in 1921.
