About this vintage design furniture
A.H. Mcintosh & CO. teak sideboard from the Dunfermline collection. Designed by Tom Robertson in the 1960's, it is a piece that perfectly combines all the functionality and design of mid 20th century sideboards. To its left, three drawers, of which the top one has a cutlery compartment. In the central part, two doors with rounded handles reveal an area with a cut-out shelf for storing objects of different heights. The right-hand side of the unit is a classic of the English firm, a bar unit with a hinged door and a sliding tray in the upper part for preparing cocktails. The detail and care in the turning of the drawer and door handles is a real delicacy in this model. The piece has been fully restored and finished with colourless varnish and teak oil to guarantee its impermeability and durability. There is only a small mark on the top right hand side of the dashboard as shown in the pictures. Otherwise, there is little to suggest that this sideboard has been travelling for nearly sixty years.
