About this vintage design furniture
Richard Hornby's teak dining table This table was designed by Richard Hornby in the 1960s. His elegant furniture was made by Fyne Ladye Furniture of Bath, UK. Detailed by Heals. Superb handmade work, carved in solid Afrormosia with a beautiful design and shape. Fyne Ladye Furniture of Banbury was one of the few quality British manufacturers to use solid wood for its pieces in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Richard Hornby was a very accomplished designer whose simple and elegant designs were popular with wealthy middle class buyers looking for modern Scandinavian style pieces at the time. Fyne Ladye furniture was rarely labelled and was sold in the best contemporary stores such as Heals of London at the time. Dimensions (cm) : W 132 x H 74 x D 83 (W 184 extended) Condition: On the whole, the vintage is in good condition. Some signs of use as expected, but nothing that strikes the eye.
