About this vintage design furniture
John and Sylvia Reed twin pedestal British Mid century 7 drawer dresserdesk cabinet. There was some great British furniture produced in the 1950’s. Most notably by Ernest Race and Robin Day but John and Sylvia Reed also produced highly accessible and simple designs that have stood the test of time. This 7 drawer cabinet is a fine example of their work that has clean simple almost modernist lines. It was produced in various veneers but the walnut version, as shown here, is by far and away the most elegant and refined. Originally designed as a dressing table cabinet it is also often used as a compact home desk. It’s presented in very good vintage condition with just a few marks and knocks as you would expect. It’s also an excellent match to the same design as the 3 drawer cabinet as pictured in the last two images so would look great as a set. The 3 drawer cabinet is also for sale via one of my other listings on this website, although please note it is slightly lighter in colour.
