About this vintage design furniture
A truly exceptional example of this classic leather office chair from the late 1950s, designed by Vincent Cafiero for Knoll. With its original thick leather, covered with cognac panels, this armchair is one of the finest examples of Cafiero's work. Beautifully aged with just the right amount of patina and wear, it is both comfortable and remarkable, and eminently practical. Originally designed by Cafiero when he was Senior Designer of Knoll's planning unit, the chair is adjustable in height, tilting and swivelling to allow you to work without problems in any work environment. It therefore perfectly echoes the Knoll approach to business and design that Cafiero championed and which also helped Knoll build an enviable reputation for design throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Overall, the chair is in very good vintage condition, with a few knocks and marks here and there, depending on age and use, and all the casters move freely. The aluminum base is still shiny with barely noticeable tarnish and has light marks appropriate for its 60 years of service. However, it has clearly been cherished and loved and therefore remains in remarkable condition for its age.
