About this vintage design furniture
Slender Mahogany coffee table from the Poly-Z serie, designed by Abraham Patijn (during the late 1950s) for Dutch manufacturer Zijlstra. Patijn was a Dutch Architect and Designer (1922-1985) and committed to bring modern design to a wider audience. This well executed table with lovely art deco elements and a high glossy finish was part of the Poly-Z series at the end of the 1950s. The mahogany wood with the flared rim has a vivid look with a beautiful grain. The rim has lightened over age. Table top has only light traces of use. The brass trumpet feet and the slim brass construction, are all details which refers to the Dutch Art deco period, with iconic architects such as Berlage and Julius Luthmann.
