About this vintage design furniture
A Younger Walnut Chest of Drawers A younger chest of drawers, featuring six drawers with dovetail joints and brass handles, the whole unit is in French walnut. A Younger was a premium maker of contemporary furniture in the late 1950s and into the late 1960s. Their chief designer was the talented John Herbert of whom little seems to be known beyond the designs for Youngers. Chests of drawers by A Younger are often much larger than those by other British makers, and indeed Danish makers. They were aiming to sell to wealthy, stylish customers, who would have larger houses and presumably more socks, knitwear etc. than the average person at the time. Circa early 1960s. Made in Britain, Danish design. ’A Younger’ label is to be found on the reverse of the back of a drawer. Dimensions (cm): 152 W x 63 H x 46 D Condition: Very good condition. Minimal signs of use.
