About this vintage design furniture
RAAK table lamp, large size in aluminum, steel and glass, 1972, Dutch. This is most likely a design by Nanny Still McKinney, one of the most famous designers at RAAK Amsterdam. This table lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired - ground, fully working and PAT tested by an electrician. It features a new E 27 nickel metal lamp holder, black switch, gray silk cable and new black plug. Bulb included. It is possible to use this light in other countries, although it may be necessary to purchase different bulbs to suit the local electricity. It can be used with a dimmer switch. This large vintage table lamp combines modernist and brutalist influences in the design. Complete with the addition of handmade colored glass panels that soften the look and add glamour. It literally makes a "huge" decorative statement and would suit a range of interiors such as Mid-Century Modern, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Brutalist, 70's Glamour, Post Modern, Industrial or Contemporary. The lamp consists of 3 parts: a stainless steel hood, a central column with a combination of aluminum discs, colored glass, and an aluminum base. The round base is made of brushed aluminum and weighted on the bottom, which makes this lamp very stable. From the base rises the central tubular aluminum column. This is decorated with a series of 5 aluminum rings. The top and bottom are empty circular frames. The 3 rings in the middle hold colored glass panels in their hands. Each of these 5 rings rotates 360 degrees and can be placed in different positions, as well as move up and down the main vertical column. Each glass section consists of 2 round glass panels of the same color, mounted on each side of the round aluminum frame. The diversity of texture, effect and color is exceptional. At the top of the column there is the slightly tapered stainless steel drum shade with a brushed polished texture on the outside. Inside it is coated with zinc alloy. Interesti (en)
