About this vintage design furniture
Rope and black ash, Gio Ponti, Cassina, Sold as a set of six. Six iconic Leggera chairs, black lacquered solid ash tree and braided straw seats, designed by architect Gio Ponti in 1951, produced by Cassina. The straw seats are in perfect condition. The combination of the rope in the seat and the black lacquered wood is rare to find. Italian Mid-Century Modern. Published in the Gio Ponti Book by Ugo La Pietra -Rizzoli Ed. Pag-253 e 757.

Gio PONTI
1891 - 1979Gio Ponti (1891-1979) was an Italian designer, architect, writer and teacher, considered one of the most influential designers of 20th-century Italy. Born in Milan, he studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic University and began working as an architect in 1921.
