Henry Walter KLEIN

Klein designed numerous pieces of furniture for bedrooms, living rooms, churches and hotels. He has also completed several commissions for the Prince of Saudi Arabia. His enfilades, armchairs, chairs and tables are timeless pieces of Scandinavian design. Biography Henry Walter Klein was born in Norway in 1919. During the Second World War, he joined the Royal Norwegian Navy as a cabinetmaker. Two years later, he left to study at the Technical School of Denmark, where the great Finn Juhl also taught! In 1959, he completed his studies and qualified as a designer. He decided to set up on his own and developed new production techniques, particularly in plastics. Unfortunately, his ingenious ideas were sometimes too costly. To solve this major problem, he invited the major players in Scandinavian design to come and see his creations. A real success: Fritz Hansen buys the patents! During the economic crisis of the 1980s, Klein moved to the USA and produced furniture for Americans.
