Helmut Friedrich SCHAFFENACKER

Helmut Friedrich Schaffenacker was a German artist who was born on October 19, 1921 in Stuttgart and died on December 10, 2015 in Berlin. He was best known for his abstract paintings.

Schaffenacker studied at the Stuttgart College of Art and Design from 1946 to 1950. He began painting abstract pictures in the 1950s and took part in several abstract art exhibitions in Germany and Europe. He also worked as a teacher at the Berlin Art School from 1964 to 1983.

Schaffenacker's paintings were often characterized by vivid colors and organic forms, which seemed to evoke natural elements such as water, fire and earth. He used a variety of techniques, including acrylic, oil and tempera.

Schaffenacker received numerous awards and distinctions for his work, including the City of Berlin Art Prize in 1978 and the Käthe Kollwitz Foundation Prize in 1996. Today, his works can be found in numerous public and private collections in Germany and around the world.
