Bernard Rancillac, born August 29, 1931 in Paris and died November 29, 2021 in Malakoff1, is a French painter and sculptor, a major representative of the new figuration.1966, he creates his only piece of furniture, the elephant chair, presented in the exhibition "Les Assises du siège contemporain" at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris in May 1968.
