Vintage metal magazine rack, 1950

Vintage mid-century, space age, metal and scooby doodle magazine rack from the 1950s.The rack features a very cool architectural design with elegant sides that slope upward in the opposite direction from each other, both of which have a bright red scooby doodle accented handle. The entire structure is made of soft wire metal that rests on 4 outwardly sloping legs ending in round red foot tips, matching the color of the scoubidou on the handles (see photos.)The piece is in overall good, original, vintage condition with signs of age and prior use commensurate with time, on the overall structure, sides, handles, feet and foot tips (see photos.) Please note: due to the age of this piece and because it is flexible, there is a minimum gap of about 3mm, in the height of one of the legs, when empty; When used as intended, all 4 legs are flush with the floor (see last 2 photos.) Instead of being repainted, the piece has only been waxed with a metallic wax, both to protect and preserve the integrity of the original patina. Reference : 245813
