About this vintage design furniture
These elegant André Arbus chairs are sure to add an element of French neoclassical chic to any room in your space. They were designed and produced by André Arbus for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique headquarters in the late 1940s. With a solid ash wood frame, tapered legs, slightly saber back, brass clogs front, these chairs are wonderful examples of André Arbus' French neoclassicism. They have been fully restored, wood re-varnished and re-upholstered with a linen fabric by Pierre Frey, reference Menerbes. Similar armchairs were sold by Tajan Paris on March 6, 2015. A similar pair also available in gray alcantara fabric, accompanied by a coffee table for a complete living room set by André Arbus.Reference: André Arbus: Architecte-Décorateur Des Années 40, Brunhammer, page 238 for a closely related model.
